China-Central Asia: Fourth Forum on Human Rights Development to be Held in Tashkent
The fourth China-Central Asia Forum on Human Rights Development will be held in Tashkent on May 14 this year.
The organizers are the China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) and the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The forum will consider the main priority areas of cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the field of human rights. The prospects for cooperation in such areas as implementing projects to reduce poverty and improve the well-being of the population in order to realize the right to development, environmental protection, green development and human rights protection, and promoting digital intelligent technologies that promote the development of human rights will be discussed.
The discussions will be attended by experts, academics, government and business circles in the field of human rights from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. A total of approximately 100 participants (40 foreign and 60 national) are expected to participate.
The fourth forum will be dedicated to the theme “Jointly promoting human rights progress through high-quality development”.
The first forum was held in Beijing on September 12, 2023, the second forum in Astana, neighboring Kazakhstan, in June 2025, and the third forum in Xi’an, China, in July 2025.
