Plans to ensure coal supply for the economy and population during the autumn-winter period are reviewed
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the results achieved and the upcoming tasks in coal mining.
Alongside all other sectors of the energy industry, new projects are being implemented in the coal sector, with capacities and production volumes being increased to ensure an uninterrupted energy supply for the population, social institutions, and economic sectors during the heating season.

During the 2024-2025 autumn-winter period, nearly 8.7 million tons of coal were extracted and supplied to thermal power plants, budget-funded organizations, and the population.
At the presentation, it was noted that 10 million tons of coal are expected to be mined during the 2025-2026 autumn-winter season. To achieve this, the material and technical resources of the enterprises of Uzbekcoal JSC have been strengthened, and conditions have been created for additional producers to operate in the sector.

The President issued instructions to ensure a guaranteed coal supply to the population throughout the entire season. The importance of modernizing enterprises, introducing new production capacities, and reducing production costs through the development of market principles and competition in the industry was emphasized.
At the presentation, the acceleration of new investment projects in the uranium sector, the expansion of geological exploration activities, and the introduction of modern technologies were also addressed.
